Procyon lotor

Raccoons are found in many habitats, urban to woodland from Canada to Central America. They are generalists able to utilize available resources, fish, crayfish, snails, clams, aquatic insects, fruit, nuts, seeds and human garbage. Their habit of washing their food is probably displaced fishing behavior. These animal "paintings" were created with a computer. The original photograph was taken by Carol.
